hay all,

I'm using a toshiba Core I5 laptop running windows 7 32 bit with 4 gb of ram. Unfortunately, winamp has begun completely crashing on startup and it will play absolutely nothing. I've tried reinstalling from the winamp.com download twice with no sucess at all. Can anyone out there help with this one, I can't seem to play anything at the moment...and I'd really rather not use wmp, as it simply does not have the functionality I need.

thanks
MJ

why don't you try hitting up the right click and try running it as an administrator?

or, if that doesn't work, try installing some other version and see whether that works or not.

Just a suggestion.

Raaj.

Get the latest version of Winamp directly from the site www.winamp.com remove all you have then install it. If you have any virus programs shut them down before installing, but that shouldn't be a problem, but might. It's hard to say exactly without knowing more, such as how you install it. Maybe get sighted assistants to tell you what's on your screen after if fails if you can not learn this with your screen reader. You should be able to however. The poster before is correct you must be admin to install, so make sure you are.

Remove winamp, delete c:program fileswinamp folder, and your winamp folder from under %appdata%, whatever windows 7's equivalent is. If all else fails try a portable version from portableapps.
